Mazda SKYACTIV is not just an engine; it is the next generation of advanced vehicle performance and efficiency

Engineering, design and development of the Mazda SKY Concept began five years ago, the next generation powertrains have now been released. The move stems from Mazda's environmental corporate mission to promote environmental protection and contribute to a better society while maintaining harmony with nature in its business activities worldwide.

SKYACTIV was developed as part of the 'sustainable Zoom-Zoom ' strategy that includes a series of dramatic improvements to the engine, transmission, body structure and suspension. It's main goal is to increase the overall fuel efficiency.

The SKYACTIV comes in two all new forms; the 2.0 Litre SKYACTIV-G gasoline 4 cylinder engine and the 2.2 Litre SKY ACTIV-D Turbo diesel

The SKYACTIV will be more enjoyable to drive, satisfying to own and is more eco friendly. Efficiency improvements come from a high compression ratio, optimised combustion, intake volume control and reduced friction. It's breakthrough technology boasts power and torque while using less fuel.

The SP20 SKYACTIV will include;

• 15% improved fuel efficiency compared to the current 2.0L gasoline engine
• 15% more torque compared with the 2.0L gasoline engine.
• It boasts 20% improvement in fuel economy compared with the current diesel engine models.
• Fuel consumption has improved to 6.1 litres per 100kms.
• Furthermore, the All new Mazda3 has significantly raised the percentage of high-strength steel by 20% while adopting new and more efficient structural engineering methods and substituting lighter materials where feasible. This has lead to an 8% reduction in its weight and 30% increase in overall rigidity.

All new facelift models now come with alloy wheels, matching body work door handles and more sleek exterior look. The SP25 now encapsulates a sportier edge with all models now including luxury features such as power-sliding and tilt glass sunroof, leather seats and smart keyless entry and push button engine start. Impressive!
